A baile, Spanish for dance, or baile entremesado, is a short theatrical piece in the Spanish Golden Age, or Siglo de Oro, tradition, taking the form of an elaborate production number with singing and dancing performed between the acts of a comedia. Bailes were humorous performances built around elaborate choreography and acrobatics, and their themes were usually unrelated to the main play during whose intermission they were staged.
