The Snowman is a crime novel by the Norwegian writer Jo Nesbo, published in Norwegian in 2007 under the title Snomannen, the seventh installment in his Harry Hole detective series. The novel follows Detective Harry Hole in Oslo as he investigates a sequence of murders targeting married mothers, each crime scene marked by the sudden appearance of a snowman, an inquiry that eventually leads back to Norway's earliest known serial killer. Running 438 pages in its original Norwegian publication by Aschehoug, The Snowman blends crime fiction with elements of horror and became one of the best known entries in the internationally popular Harry Hole series.
