The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath is a horror novella by American writer H. P. Lovecraft, drafted beginning around autumn 1926 and completed on January 22, 1927, though it remained unrevised and unpublished during his lifetime. It is the longest of the stories in his Dream Cycle and the longest work to feature his recurring protagonist Randolph Carter, combining horror and fantasy into an epic account of humankind's capacity to dream. The novella was published posthumously by Arkham House in 1943, and a definitive text corrected by S. T. Joshi later appeared in Arkham House and Penguin Classics editions alongside other Lovecraft stories.
