The Magician is a 1908 novel by the British author W. Somerset Maugham. It follows the magician Oliver Haddo, a caricature of the occultist Aleister Crowley, as he attempts to create life. Crowley himself later wrote a critique of the novel under the pen name Oliver Haddo, in which he accused Maugham of plagiarism.
