The Fixer is a 1966 novel by American writer Bernard Malamud, published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. It is a fictionalized retelling of the Beilis case, in which Menahem Mendel Beilis, a Jewish man in tsarist Russia, was falsely accused of ritual murder and imprisoned in 1913 despite the case having no connection to American life or setting. The novel won both the 1967 National Book Award for Fiction and the 1967 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, Malamud's second National Book Award.
