Folk Tales, Legends and Myths

Traditional narratives passed along in folklore, including the legend, the creation myth and emergence myth, the urban legend, the tall tale, the pourquoi story, the dilemma tale and the traditional story. A genre belongs here when its cited article describes it as a form of folklore, myth or traditional storytelling. It excludes the fable and the moral tale, which have their own group. The group sits within the Epic and Heroic Narrative subcategory of the genre roster and gathers the genres of this kind that the atlas already records, so that a reader can browse related genres together and compare how each one is defined.
