Yuri, also known by the wasei-eigo term girls' love, is a genre of Japanese media centered on intimate relationships between female characters. Lesbian relationships are a commonly associated theme, but the genre also includes works depicting emotional or spiritual relationships between women that are not necessarily romantic or sexual in nature. Yuri is most closely associated with anime and manga, though the term is also used to describe video games, light novels and other forms of literature.
