Na'at is a genre of poetry in praise of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, popular in South Asia and commonly composed in Bengali, Punjabi or Urdu. People who recite na'at are known as na'at khawan. Exclusive praise directed to Allah alone is a separate genre called Hamd, not to be confused with na'at.
