Ninjobon

Ninjobon is a pre-modern Japanese literary genre founded and developed in the early nineteenth century, derived from the earlier sharebon and kokkeibon genres and classed as a subgenre of gesaku. Commonly called sentimental books, ninjobon works focused more on erotic relationships than their predecessors and featured illustrations and vibrant covers, generally aiming at young female readers with plots centered on love, suicide, relationships and family.
