Africanfuturism is a cultural aesthetic and philosophy of science centered on the fusion of African culture, history, mythology and point of view with technology based in Africa. It was coined in 2018 by the Nigerian-American writer Nnedi Okorafor in a social media post, who then expanded the concept in her 2019 essay Africanfuturism Defined.
