Notebook of a Return to My Native Land

A book-length poem by the Martinican writer Aime Cesaire, written originally in French as Cahier d'un retour au pays natal and first published in 1939, with revised editions in 1947 and 1956. Blending poetry and prose, it explores Black African and Caribbean cultural identity under colonialism and is considered Cesaire's masterwork and a founding text of the Negritude movement.
