Belongs here: the classical Japanese court and haiku tradition, the great Chinese vernacular novelists, modern Japanese fiction from the Meiji era on, and the Korean and Vietnamese narrative tradition. Does not belong here: a South or Southeast Asian author from the Indian subcontinent, kept under South Asian literature instead.
