The Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies (ACLALS), founded in 1964 at a conference at the University of Leeds, promotes and coordinates Commonwealth and postcolonial literature studies, organizes seminars and workshops, arranges lectures by writers and scholars, and holds a triennial international conference, most recently in Nairobi in 2025 with the next in India in 2028.
